International Drive · Jump starts
Jump start service on International Drive.
A dead battery in an I-Drive hotel garage or resort lot is one of the most common roadside calls in the corridor. Roūte sends a driver with jump equipment to the parked vehicle, with the estimate shown before dispatch.
Why batteries die along the I-Drive corridor
Visitors staying on International Drive frequently leave a rental car parked for two or three days while they use resort shuttles, park transport, and the I-Ride Trolley. A battery that was already weak when the car was collected has plenty of time to go flat in that window.
Central Florida heat compounds it. High ambient temperatures accelerate the chemical wear inside a lead-acid battery, which is why a battery can pass in a cooler climate and then fail on a Florida trip. Sitting in a top-level uncovered garage deck all afternoon does not help.
The other common cause is simple: an interior light, a courtesy light in an unfamiliar rental, or a door not fully latched overnight. The car looks fine in the morning and will not crank.
Emergencies come first. If there is a crash, injury, fire, or you are stopped somewhere unsafe in live traffic, call 911 before requesting roadside assistance.
Where this comes up on I-Drive
- Rental cars left parked for multiple days while guests use shuttles.
- Uncovered upper decks of resort garages in sustained summer heat.
- Interior or courtesy lights left on in an unfamiliar rental vehicle.
- Short hops between hotels and parks that never fully recharge the battery.
- Older batteries in vehicles that spent the day at the Convention Center.
How Roūte works
- 01
Tell us what happened
Pick the service you need and describe the vehicle so the right driver and equipment are matched to the job.
- 02
Confirm location and price
Drop the pin on the vehicle, review the estimate Roūte calculates for that request, and approve it before anything is dispatched.
- 03
Track the driver in
Once a driver accepts, follow their progress on the map and share a live tracking link with someone else if you want.
What to include in your request
- Vehicle year, make, model, and colour.
- Where exactly the car is parked, including garage level or lot section.
- Whether the vehicle is accessible from both sides for cable clearance.
- Any symptoms you noticed — clicking, slow cranking, warning lights.
- Whether the battery has already been jumped recently.
What to expect
Hybrid and EV limits
High-voltage traction batteries cannot be jump started. A 12V accessory battery in a hybrid sometimes can — provide accurate vehicle details so the request can be assessed.
Battery access matters
Some vehicles put the battery in the trunk or under a seat with remote jump terminals in the engine bay. The driver will locate the correct connection points.
Drive afterwards
Keep the engine running and drive for a stretch so the alternator can put charge back into the battery instead of switching off immediately.
Repeat failures need testing
If the car dies again shortly after, the battery or charging system likely needs replacement rather than another boost.
Pricing
Roūte shows the estimate for your specific request before you confirm it — nothing is dispatched until you approve the price. Amounts vary with the service, the vehicle location and distance, and the responding provider, so the live app is always the source of truth rather than a figure published here. There is no annual membership to buy.
Availability
Roūte is launching in the Orlando, Florida area with an initial focus on International Drive and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Availability at any moment depends on how many drivers are online nearby, so enter your pickup location in the app to see whether a driver can be matched to your request right now.
