Visiting Orlando · Convention Center
Roadside assistance near the Convention Center.
Short answer
Convention week concentrates thousands of rental cars into a few decks along International Drive, and they all sit unused from early morning until late evening. That produces a very predictable end-of-day spike in dead batteries and lockouts. Roūte covers the I-Drive corridor, shows the estimate before dispatch, and tracks the driver to your deck level.
Emergencies come first. If there is a crash, injury, fire, or you are stopped somewhere unsafe in live traffic, call 911 before requesting roadside assistance.
Why convention parking generates calls
The pattern is mechanical, not bad luck. A car is driven ten minutes from a hotel, parked for fourteen hours in the heat, and then asked to start at 7pm along with two thousand others. Marginal batteries fail under exactly those conditions, and interior lights left on in an unfamiliar rental finish the job.
Lockouts follow the same curve. Badge, laptop bag, and samples go into the trunk in the morning; keys go in with them. The good news is that the corridor is dense with drivers, and Roūte's launch zone sits directly over it.
- Deck or lot name plus the level and nearest stairwell.
- Hall entrance you are closest to (West, North/South, or the campus hotel decks).
- Vehicle colour and plate — rental fleets repeat during convention weeks.
- Whether the deck closes or gates after a certain hour.
Booking help while you are still in a session
You do not have to be standing next to the vehicle to request most services. A jump start, fuel delivery, or tire change can be arranged for the car's location, and the app tracks the driver so you can time your walk out. Lockouts are the exception: someone authorised has to be present at the vehicle.
If your event is running a group shuttle and you would rather deal with the car in the morning, that is often the calmer choice — the estimate you see in the app is for the job, not for the urgency of your evening.
Rental cars during convention week
Rental cars are the single most common vehicle Roūte helps in the tourist corridor. Before requesting help, check the rental agreement or the app for the company's own roadside line — some contracts include assistance and some charge for it. If you would rather not wait on a call centre queue, Roūte works the same way for a rental as for a personal car, and you keep the receipt for reimbursement.
