Cost guide
How much does fuel delivery cost?
Short answer
Emergency fuel delivery is priced as a service call plus the fuel itself. You are not buying fuel at pump price — you are paying someone to bring an emergency quantity to a vehicle that cannot move, and that call-out is the larger part of the total.
Emergencies come first. If there is a crash, injury, fire, or you are stopped somewhere unsafe in live traffic, call 911 before requesting roadside assistance.
What the price includes
- The provider's travel to the stranded vehicle.
- Their time on site to deliver the fuel safely.
- The cost of the fuel itself, at more than pump price.
- Any access difficulty, such as a garage, gated property, or highway shoulder.
How much fuel is delivered
Emergency fuel delivery is sized to get the vehicle to the nearest station under its own power. It is not a tank fill, and it should not be treated as a substitute for buying fuel normally — you will still stop at a station straight afterwards.
Fuel type accuracy is the critical detail. Gasoline in a diesel engine, or diesel in a gasoline engine, causes serious damage. Confirm which one the vehicle takes from the fuel-door label before you request delivery.
Is it worth it versus walking to a station?
If a station is genuinely a short, safe walk away and you have a suitable container, walking is cheaper. In practice that combination is rarer than it sounds — highway shoulders, parking garages, and unfamiliar tourist corridors are not places to walk with a fuel can, and many stations no longer sell containers.
Weigh the cost against the risk. Walking along a shoulder in live traffic is the part of this that actually goes wrong.
How Roūte prices fuel delivery
Roūte does not publish a fixed price list on this page because the estimate depends on the request itself. The app calculates the price for your specific job and shows it before anything is dispatched — that figure is the source of truth, and you approve it before a driver is sent.
