Roūte respects intellectual property rights and responds to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512.
1. Submitting a takedown notice
Send a written notice to our Designated Agent (below) that includes:
- a physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorized agent;
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- identification of the material to be removed and information sufficient to locate it (URL or screenshot);
- your contact information (name, address, phone, email);
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on the rights holder's behalf.
Incomplete notices may not be processed. Knowingly false notices may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
2. Counter-notice
If material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice with:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the removed material and its prior location;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, of good-faith belief that the removal was a mistake;
- your name, address, phone, and consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court where you live (or, outside the U.S., where Roūte may be found), and to service of process from the original complainant.
3. Repeat infringers
Roūte will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
