Accessibility Statement
Last updated · May 18, 2026
Route Technologies LLC (“Roūte”) wants the Roūte website and iOS application to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We are actively improving accessibility and welcome your feedback.
1. Our commitment
We aim to conform with:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for public web pages, where feasible; and
- Apple iOS accessibility best practices (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, sufficient contrast on primary flows).
Because Roūte is a map- and location-heavy service, some features are inherently visual (live tracking, maps). We provide text alternatives (ETAs, status labels, notifications) where we can.
2. iOS app features
The Roūte app supports or is designed to support:
| Feature | How we use it |
|---|---|
| VoiceOver | Labels on primary buttons, job status, and tracking controls |
| Dynamic Type | Respects system text size on many screens (some map-heavy views may clip at largest sizes) |
| Reduce Motion | Limits non-essential animations when enabled in iOS Settings |
| Bold Text / Increase Contrast | Inherits from iOS system settings where SwiftUI supports it |
| Dark interface | Default dark theme with light-on-dark text for primary content |
| Haptics | Supplementary feedback; not required to complete tasks |
Live Activities and maps may have limited screen-reader description of geographic detail; we expose ETA, driver name, and job status in text elsewhere in the app.
3. Website
For tryrouteapp.net, we strive to provide:
- Readable contrast for body text on dark backgrounds
- Keyboard-focusable links and buttons on marketing pages
- Descriptive link text (not “click here” alone)
- Resizable text via browser zoom
- Alternative text for meaningful images
Third-party embeds (maps, payment iframes) are governed by those providers' accessibility.
4. Known limitations
We are aware that some areas may be difficult to use:
- Map pan/zoom and driver movement on a map may be hard to perceive without vision; rely on ETA text and notifications.
- Color alone is not the only indicator for critical status (we pair with text/icons).
- Time-limited job offers (Provider accept window) may pressure users with cognitive disabilities; contact support if you need accommodation.
- Document upload for driver onboarding depends on camera/gallery interfaces.
- Older iOS versions may not support all accessibility APIs we use on the latest release.
We prioritize fixes that block core flows: sign-up, request help, pay, track, and complete a job.
5. Assistance animals and service
Roūte does not dispatch medical or accessibility transport. For wheelchair-accessible towing or specialized equipment, contact local licensed providers. We are exploring expanded service categories over time.
6. Feedback and accommodations
Please include:
- Platform (iOS app version or web browser)
- Description of the barrier
- Steps to reproduce
- Whether you use VoiceOver, Voice Control, or other assistive tech
7. Formal complaints (U.S.)
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact relevant enforcement authorities, such as the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or your state attorney general's consumer protection office.
8. Continuous improvement
Accessibility is ongoing. Major app releases are tested for VoiceOver on primary customer paths (home, request, tracking, profile). Marketing site updates should be checked for color contrast and keyboard navigation.
